Skep’s Place

The Skep Sampler

So you’re trying to figure out this “Skep’s Place” thing that everybody’s talking about these days, and it’s confusing. “There sure is a lot of meandering, peacockish writing to sift through,” you tell yourself. You want to be able to join in on all the conversations your friends have been having, but where do you even start?

It’s okay; I’m not going to leave you hanging. To help jump-start your new obsession, I’m linking a variety of pieces that I’m proud of or which were particularly well-received.

  1. The Knight’s Tale

The great thing about Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales is that each one is a complete story, so you don’t have to worry about getting invested in an entire book right now. The Knight’s Tale is one of the best, and is also one of the least problematic (which isn’t saying much, but still)!

  1. The Stamp Collection

Me, after making a joke about starting a stamp collection: Oh, wait, I forgot I actually had a stamp collection.

  1. The Tea Party Caper

I’m not 100% sure I intended Tiger Tracks to be a string of crackpot theories about Calvin & Hobbes, but if it wasn’t supposed to be that then I have no clue what I ever meant it to be. Anyway this is one of my favorites.

  1. The Adventures of Krunch MacKenzie — Episode 1

Honestly this might be the best thing I’ll ever write.

  1. Top 10 Names for Cats Inspired By Heavy-Duty Construction Equipment

This isn’t particularly noteworthy or anything, it’s just, you know, I need a fifth entry to round out the list and this was kind of amusing. Plus it has royalty-free cat pictures. Who doesn’t love royalty-free cat pictures?
