Skep's Place

Chapter 24: Much Ado Skipped Over

A letter arrives from Miss Bingley, announcing that they are definitely staying in London this winter, and also Mr. Bingley is totally spending a lot of time with Mr. Darcy's sister, so ha ha ha.

Basically this results in more general misery around the Bennet household and a long conversation between Jane and Elizabeth, but little of it presents any new concepts so we're just going to gloss over it.

The only noteworthy dialogue occurs between Elizabeth and Mr. Bennet, when the latter asks Elizabeth when it will be her turn to get stood up by some gentleman, saying that Mr. Wickam would make a fine man to be jilted by. He adds that, should it come to pass, at least Elizabeth has a loving mother who is sure to grieve on her behalf.
