Easter Dinner
Tuesday
Dad: "Hey. You got plans for Easter?"
Me: "Nope. We can come up."
Dad: "Well, I don't feel like cooking. I'm getting tired of ham."
Me: "That's because you'll cook an entire Easter dinner for yourself and freeze it."
Dad: "We could go out to eat. Dunno if anything's open though."
Me: "I'm sure places are open. I'll look into some places and get back to you tomorrow."
Wednesday
Me, after a morning of searching restaurants: "Okay, I've got three places about halfway between us that are confirmed open on Easter. One of them even has an expanded menu. Or I'm sure most chains will be open too. We have some good options."
Dad: "I was thinking maybe I'd call the place near me tomorrow and see if they're open."
Me, understanding that this option would add an extra hour total drive time to my day: "Uh okay well let me know I guess."
Friday
Dad: "I'm thinking we do the place up here. They got four options for dinner. Ham, turkey, lasagna, and I can't remember the fourth."
Me, recalling that this was a regular-ass restaurant with a multiple-page menu: "...That's what they're doing for Easter?"
Dad: "Is that enough?"
Me: "I suppose."
Dad: "Let me know. I have to make reservations."
Me: "You want to do 1:30 or 2? We'd prefer 1:30 so we're not driving home too late."
Dad: "I'll make it for 2."
Saturday
Dad: "Had to make the reservation for 3."
